Eating A Gluten Free Diet, Is It Healthy?

At Kids Creative Kitchen we cook everything Gluten Free. There were a lot of students who were gluten free but also some families chose to eat gluten free in their household.

Our family eats gluten free but we haven't always, it has only been recent that I completely cut out gluten. Our gluten foods would often include sourdough bread or pasta or when we went out for a meal then our meals would sometimes contain gluten.

I recently completed 2 weeks of juice fasting and then 2 weeks of absolute clean eating which meant all gluten was completely cut out. The results of cutting out gluten has been nothing short of amazing! I have also cut out dairy and processed sugars which also contribute to health issues.

I have had lifelong symptoms where my main symptom has been dry skin since my early teens. My feet and heels were ALWAYS dry and cracking and sometimes they would bleed. I would see my friends feet which were always nice and soft and mine were literally cracking and falling apart. I can happily say that my heels are finally healing!! Cutting out inflammatory gluten has meant that my skin can heal from the inside out! My heels are now soft and all cracks are faint and healing.

I had tried everything, creams, podiatrist appointments, supplements, sandpaper, pumice stone. All would work for a day or two then the dryness comes back and the cracks appear again. Nothing worked! But by cutting out these inflammatory substances gluten, dairy, processed sugar, I am able to clear up a lifelong skin issue.

Do you or your children suffer from any of these symptoms:

  • Skin - dry, cracked heels, acne, rashes

  • Gut Issues - bloating, gassy, diarrhoea, constipation

  • Brain - foggy, forgetful, lack drive, addiction to highly processed foods, headaches

  • Body - Inflammation in joints, dental issues, weight gain, hormonal imbalance

If these symptoms are your every day normal or you've noticed them creep in recently then give clean eating a go for a month, go gluten free, dairy free and processed sugar free. See how your body responds and keep a check on your symptoms and see what improves. This is something that is huge for kids too, especially with the skin conditions, don't let your child suffer for years when things can be easily adjusted now.

Gluten free is easy, all our recipes are gluten free, dairy free and processed sugar free. You can make up snacks on the weekend that can be used during the week. You can check labels when you're shopping to make sure there isn't any gluten present. Try eating plant based whole foods for a month, lots organic fresh fruits and vegetables, go for gluten free grains like rice and quinoa, oats and millet and add your healthy proteins of tofu, chickpeas, beans, lentils. Always check your labels and reduce your packet & processed food as much as possible.

See how you go, i'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised at all the amazing benefits you get from eating this way.

If you'd like to try out our recipes we have our term class recipe booklet available here, only $9.99!
